The Brief
Restaurant Website Design in the UK Built Around How People Actually Order Food
Smash & Wings needed a full restaurant website design in the UK that could do far more than simply display a menu. Located on the High Street in Bushey, Hertfordshire, the halal fast food restaurant had built a strong local following for its smash burgers, wings, and bold flavours — but lacked a digital platform that could turn that popularity into consistent online revenue. Ron Studios was brought in to build the entire digital operation from scratch.
The brief covered everything. However, at its core, the challenge was to build a website that could handle the full complexity of a modern restaurant operation — online ordering, click and collect, payment integration, and a live connection to the restaurant’s POS terminals — all within a design that felt as bold and confident as the brand itself. Furthermore, the operating hours logic needed to be built into the system, so that customers could only place orders during the times the kitchen was actually open.
In addition to the website, Ron Studios was commissioned to design the restaurant’s physical menu, TV screens for in-store display, and to manage ongoing social media marketing campaigns. Therefore, this was not a single project handoff — it was the beginning of a full ongoing partnership covering every digital and physical touchpoint of the Smash & Wings brand.

The Outcome
A Restaurant Website Design That Drives Online Orders and Fills the Restaurant
The finished website gives Smash & Wings a complete digital ordering platform that works around the clock. Customers visiting the site can browse the full menu, place an order for click and collect, pay securely online, and receive real-time confirmation — all without a single phone call. As a result, the restaurant can handle a higher volume of orders with less friction for both the team and the customer.
The EPOS integration with WooCommerce was one of the most important technical elements of the project. Furthermore, it means that every online order flows directly into the restaurant’s in-house system — no manual entry, no missed orders, no confusion between the kitchen and the front of house. The operating hours logic built into the platform also ensures that customers can only order when the kitchen is open, which eliminates a common source of frustration for both parties.
On the brand side, every touchpoint was considered. The physical menu, TV screens, and digital assets were all designed with the same bold visual identity — consequently, whether a customer is standing at the counter or browsing the website, the brand feels consistent and confident. The ongoing social media campaigns have additionally helped drive new customers through targeted advertising in Bushey and the surrounding Watford area.
The technical build followed Google’s SEO fundamentals from day one — optimised page structure, fast load speeds, and mobile-first design. In other words, the site is built to be found by customers searching for halal restaurants in Bushey, burgers near Watford, or fast food delivery in Hertfordshire. Moreover, the ad campaigns have reinforced this visibility with targeted paid social that brings new customers through the door week after week.
For Ron Studios, Smash & Wings is a strong example of what we deliver for the food and beverage sector. If you own a restaurant, takeaway, or fast food brand and need a website that handles real orders from real customers — not just a digital menu — we would love to help you build it. Indeed, the right website can transform how a restaurant operates and grows.
